Exploring Beneath The Crow

What Happened

Rova 19, 4716

  • We decided to let Ayala go rather than try to “arrest” her.
  • We found a man (Holo) tied up. He had been working for Lady Heidmarch before we came along and had been captured by the Tower Girls about a day ago. We rescued him and brought him along with us.
  • We rest. For real this time.
  • Then we started the arduous task of searching every room for secrets.
  • (Alaznist vs. the Demon – Thibeedos [previous Runelord of Wrath])

Rova 20, 4716

  • Beyond a secret door, we find a long passage that ends on a ledge. Holo was going to cross the plank to the pillar, but we spotted a water spider in the water below. Grath went out to the pillar, but the plank broke. Luckily, we had him tied off and he didn’t fall int the water.
  • Through the crevice, we came into a web-filled room with a pair of water spiders. We killed them an investigated the chamber.
  • We took the stairs down (down to levels below sea level). We were chasing a Mite.
  • In a large burial chamber filled with piles of debris, we were attacked by Giant Ants.
  • In another large room with webs and debris, we were attacked by 9 Mites, with two of the riding Giant Spiders!
  • After descending deeper beneath The Crow, we find corridors filled with webs. We cut our way through to find a number of iron doors down the hallway.
  • Each door led to a 10′ × 10′ cell. Most were empty, bet we did encounter some more spiders. Pavo’s impatience got him poisoned. :(
  • We found an ancient torture chamber (or horrible laboratory). Trapped behind bars, a Sinspawn tried to get to us.
  • We found a magical well with healing waters.
  • In a large pillared chamber, we were attacked by six Giant Spiders.

What Happened

Rova 18, 4716

  • We came to a long hall covered in murals and empty burial niches.
  • It looks like these niches were set aside for the engineers of the Irespan.
  • In a small room with a fountain, we found a campsite with a sleeping Tower Girl..
  • In a small, circular room we found a crate containing a bronze statuette of a Rune Giant and an amphora full of ancient coins.
  • We descended some stairs and found another Wererat with a pack of Donkey Rats and five Tower Girls.
  • In a brutal fight, we manage to kill or knock out all of our foes.
  • We found a chamber with a statue of Runelord Alaznist.
  • We found a bunk room, and room with a bath, and a storage room.
  • We found a mural of Alaznist killing a demonic figure of some kind. In the same room, we discovered one of the walls was just an illusion.
  • We found a set of elaborate double doors with runes that say “LISTEN” and “THE EYES.” By rearranging the runes to “THEY SEE” and “SILENT” we were able to unlock the doors. The doors were made of siccatite (a star metal), which we took as a clue that we were on the right track.
  • Down yet more stairs, we found a scum-covered pool with a pair of Giant Amoebae. Then we’re forced to kill a swarm of bats.
  • Out of resources, we were forced to camp in the secret passages. While resting, we were attacked by a Wererat and the leader of the Tower Girls, Tarisha. Cue circus music.
  • After a long, long running battle that burned all our spells and nearly half a wand, we killed Tarisha and captured the Wererat.

What Happened

Rova 17, 4716

  • Some street urchins told showed us some hidden ways to move through Undrebridge.
  • We used a wheelbarrow and hired a carriage to get Natalya’s unconscious form back to Heidmarch Manor.
  • Lady Heidmarch inserted an Ioun Stone into the Shard of Pride. The Stone fused the Shard, which seems to have stifled it’s “curse of pride.” It is a piece of the Shattered Star of Xin.
  • We agreed to find the other six pieces of the Star of Xin for Lady Heidmarch.
  • Sawyer took possession of the Shard of Pride
  • Sawyer had a vision of the Irespan pilings – specifically, The Crow. That’s where the next Shard is.
  • Lady Heidmarch allowed us to stay in Heidmarch Manor.

Rova 18, 4716

  • Lady Heidmarch loaned us her skiff and we rowed out to The Crow under cover of darkness and fog.
  • We found three rowboats already tied off in the entrance to the Crow. People were obviously staying here, just as Onos suspected.
  • We found some carvings of ancient Thassilonians traveling across an intact Irespan. In the same room, we could also see an altar of some kind.
  • We took a series of stairways (probably) all the way to the top of the piling.
  • We ran into a pair of Human women who threatened us if we didn’t leave. A Wererat was with them. We offered to let them surrender multiple times, but we were forced to kill them.
  • We found a secret door leading to a large room that eventually lead to an exit 180’ above the water. We climbed up a rope ladder into another hidden area.

Scavenger Hunt Through Magnimar

What Happened

Rova 16, 4716

  • We made our way to the Founder’s Honor monument and then on to Heidmarch Manor.
  • We met Koriah Azmeren and Sheila Heidmarch.
  • Lady Heidmarch asks us to open a Paradox Box. It’s covered in Tlassilonian runes of Wrath. It was opened when we changed the word “cruel” to “lucre.”
  • When it opened, we let loose a pair of dog-like gremlins. We killed the little monsters, but the room went through hell in the process.
  • Lady Heidmarch wants us to find a lost contact of hers (Natalia) and an item that is of interest to the Society. The Sczarni are involved because Natalia is one of them. The item may have been stolen or may be sought by the Sczarni. Offers 500 gp for the item and another 500 for rescuing Natalia.
  • The Amazing Zograthy (Washer’s Row in Dockway). Nidalese slavers? Arvensoar (arrested?).
  • We were unable to find out anything about the Nidalese slavers.
  • We wait for 3.5 hours in Avensoar to talk to the watch commander. She tells us Natalia is a burglar who runs with the Tower Girls. She is not in custody. The Tower Girls may me in a warehouse in Underbridge (Fenster the Blight). The Nidalese salvers are just a rumor.
  • We went to see the Amazing Zograthy. He was a pesh addict. We paid him to learn the “vanishings” are real and seem to only be targeting Varisians and poor. The Tower Girls want to find and kill Natalia. She went “mad” before her disappearance.
  • We went to talk to Fenster the Blight. We thought we were hiring him to find Natalia, but when we entered his hovel, he attacked us! We killed him – or thought we had, but his diseases conspired to keep him alive He told us of the building Natalia was hiding in.

Rova 17, 4716

  • We go to the abandoned building in search of Natalia.
  • Two heavily armed the warned us away for the house. Three of us distracted them while Grath covertly entered the building.
  • The building is a mostly rotted-out husk with an open sewer beneath it. There was no sign of Natalia. When we confronted the men, they attacked us. We killed one and captured the other.
  • The thug told us that they were hired by Natalia to guard the building and that she was inside with some green Goblin-like creatures.
  • While negotiating with Natalia, Tzrisha Skiloni and three thugs showed up to threaten us. We let them go in after Natalia. There was a fight. We tried to ambush them as they came out and noticed Natalia unconscious in the sewage.
  • We retrieved her and an absurdly powerful magic, copper shard.
  • We killed a pair of Stirges on the upper floor.

Full Moon Cave

What Happened

  • Got invitation from Kreighton Shaine to meet at the Pig’s Paunch.
  • We’re ready to graduate early! Introduces Janira Gavix, will go with us during our confirmation.
  • We’re to explore some caves that Janira discovered six months ago. She’s seen Gillmen entering the caves, but not leaving. Explore, map, & document. learn what the Gillmen are doing.
  • Base of the Kortors Mountains. Take 2 days to get there. Info gathering from Janira.
  • Details: Gillmen enter cave during full moon. Could have to deal with Centaurs, Minotaurs, and maybe Harpies. Look for clues to explain the cave’s significance. Escadar is the only know surface settlement of Gillmen which is not terribly close.

Arudus 5, 4716

  • Janira leads us across the Karnlands towards the mountains.

Arudus 6, 4716

  • We entered the foothills of the mountains.
  • On our way to the cave entrance, we were attacked by a pair of hawk-like, winged horses. We killed them without being wounded.
  • We found the entrance to the cave, but before we can enter, a Minotaur rushes into the clearing and attacks us. Janira leaves us her supplies and leads the Minotaur away form the cave.
  • We root through Janier’s bag of supplies and find it chock full of magic items and alchemical tools.
  • As prepared as we can be, we head into the caves.
  • At the end of a path, we find a small bundle of cloth at the bottom of a pit. Luminous fungi provide dim light and their are pictographs of sea life on the walls.
  • We cross the pit and leave a board we found for Janira. The cloth at the bottom of the pit was a + 1 Cloak of Resistance.
  • We entered a large chamber with fade glyphs. The exit tunnel is lined with blue torches. These glyphs were written by a different society (or race) than those carved in the entrance. They appear to be excerpts from History and Future of Humanity They are parables of Aroden’s 12 guises. Only 3 can be made out (Craftsman, Fisherman, & Merchant).
  • Descending into another large cavern, we found large pond. Rising from the pool was a column of stone with the carving of a city on the top. Offerings are scattered about on the city and cave frogs crawl across it. And there was a Gillman.
  • His name is Uori and he talked to us a bit. He allows us to study the cave and answers a few questions. He seemed a little angry at the mention of Aboleths.
  • To the west, we find a small cave with the smell of decay. Two Undead creatures attack us. (Zombies.) The dead man was a Dhampir while the two Zombies were Gillmen.
  • There is a note written by the Dhampir regarding his plans to make an army of Undead using the Gillmen that visit the cave.
  • We found a passage concealed behind some rubble. He could hear the sounds of combat ahead of us.
  • While travelling through a maze of narrow passages, a Giant Amoeba attacked us.
  • Eventually, the passage brought us outside and right into a clearing where Janira was fighting the Minotaur. The Minotaur killed Janira!
  • We managed to avenge Janira and kill the Minotaur.
  • Exploring the last passage in the cave, we found an underground stream in a huge tunnel. There are two Mites and a Giant Centipede. They were not interested in talking.
  • Onos manages to conduct the ritual tied to the Merchant.

  • We spend the day completely searching the caves.

Arudus 8, 4716

  • We headed back to Absalom.

Arudus 9, 4716

  • We arrive in Absalom and report back.
  • We’re promoted to Pathfinder Field Agents.

Arudus 13, 4716

  • We get assigned to the Pathfinder Lodge in Magnimar.

Session 0

It is Arodus 5, 4716 AR. It has been 4 years since a small group of citizens from Sandpoint found themselves in the middle of a giant invasion into the lands of Varisia, lead by the returning runelord Karzoug. This group stopped the invasion from Storval Plateau, traveled to the long forgotten city of gold Xin-Shalast, and destroyed the runelord. They returned as heroes, but what became of those heroes after they saved Varisia is a story for another day.

Our story starts in the city of Absalom on the Isle of Kortos. It is widely considered the City at the Center of the World, and headquarters to the largest organization in the world, the Pathfinder Society. The Society dispatches their Agents all over the world, to explore, delve into, and otherwise experience the lesser-seen parts of Golarion. It is also here that new Initiates in the Society train to become Pathfinder Agents.

Today, we find a group of Initiates collected together awaiting their final trial.
